  Introduction

Visible Human Data is the result of an effort by the National Library of Medicine (http://www.nlm.nih.gov) to create a multimodal digital library male and female cadaver specimens. The male dataset consists of CT, MRI, and anatomical cross section data totaling over 13 gigabytes of data. The female data has 3 times the resolution in the anatomical cross sections, resulting in over 40 gigabytes of data. The availability Visible Human Data provides a unique opportunity and challenge for visualization of extremely large datasets. We are using the data for fast isosurfacing and joint modelling and simulation.
